SAN DIEGO (AP) -- San Diego Chargers left guard Chad Rinehart has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the winless Jacksonville Jaguars and inside linebacker Donald Butler is doubtful.
Neither Rinehart (toe) nor Butler (groin) was able to play in Monday's victory over the Indianapolis Colts and the Chargers wrapped up their practice week on Friday with both players again sitting out.
Rinehart will be replaced by rookie Johnnie Troutman, who was called for two false start penalties on Monday.
Andrew Gachkar would likely start in Butler's place, although Reggie Walker would also see snaps at the position.
Signs point to wide receiver Eddie Royal not being able to play after he hurt his toe on Monday. Royal, who also returns punts, remains in a walking boot and didn't practice this week. He is listed as questionable.
''He could play unless we feel he isn't 100 percent and he would hurt himself or the team,'' coach Mike McCoy said.
McCoy was encouraged that outside linebacker Jarret Johnson (hamstring) has worked in a limited capacity this week after skipping Monday's game. Johnson, who leads the Chargers with three sacks, is designated as questionable.
The Chargers (3-3) are attempting to get above the .500 mark for the first time this season before entering their bye week.
