Charges Dropped Against Jaden Smith's Girlfriend Sarah Snyder After She Was Accused of Stealing Hermes Bag

Jaden Smith's girlfriend, Sarah Snyder, is no longer facing charges of grand larceny, PEOPLE can confirm.

The case was dismissed in a Bedford, New York, court on Wednesday, her lawyer tells PEOPLE. The case stemmed around allegations from a boutique owner that Snyder stole a $15,995 Hermes bag earlier this year.

The model and Instagram star, 19, penned an open latter in Harper's Bazaar, in which she told a detailed account of her arrest and confirmed her innocence.

"On Wednesday night, February 10th, during a hearing in Bedford at 6:30pm, the charges were dismissed. I'm just happy that people know the truth and know that I didn't do it," she wrote. "It was satisfying to know that they admitted that they were wrong."



Synder was arrested in June after the boutique store identified her as the women who they believe swiped the handbag.

Throughout the eight month period, and going to court "four times for this case," both Snyder and Schuster, insisted she was innocent on all charges, stating that as her alibi read, she was not in New York on the date of the alleged crime.

In the letter, Snyder revealed she was in Florida visiting her father at the time of the theft.

"There was a lot of proof I didn't do it," she explained. "There was a time-stamped plane ticket, my dad's affidavit, my phone records, my credit card statement, and there are pictures of me in my dad's house in Florida on the same day they claim I stole the purse. My phone triangulated back to Florida – the police called AT&T."

After the court confirmed she was in fact in Florida and dismissed the charges, Snyder wrote that she hopes to put this situation behind her.

"I have been through so much s--- this past year," she said. "I'm just glad it's over."

But one thing is for certain: Snyder isn't going to let this ordeal hold her back.

On Thursday, the day after her final court appearance, Snyder stepped out with Smith to attend the Kanye West fashion show/album launch in New York City.

The pair walked hand-in-hand as they entered the show at Madison Square Garden. Snyder looked chic in a tan dress with a beige coat, while Smith, 17, wore an all black ensemble for the outing.

And this isn't the first fashion show the couple has attended together. Smith and Snyder were spotted packing on the PDA while sitting front row at the Gypsy Sport show in September.
