  • CBS reportedly wants to pair Charlie Rose and Gayle King as co-hosts of the retooled Early Show. Sources say the network is close to a deal with Rose, but there are concerns about how readily he'd take to the early-morning schedule. “Charlie’s never woken up before 10 a.m.,” says one source. “He’s one of New York’s great night owls.”[Page Six]

  • Trey Parker and Matt Stone were reportedly the subject of an investigation by the Church of Scientology's Office of Special Affairs after the airing of South Park's "Trapped in the Closet" episode in 2005. According to a 2006 memo that former church member Marty Rathbun published to his blog, the church compiled a list of their friends as part of an attempt to get a "direct line into Parker and Stone" and find "viable strings that can be pulled."   • Paul McCartney and new bride Nancy Shevell threw a second reception in New York on Friday night, two weeks after tying the knot in London. Yoko Ono, Michael Bloomberg, James Taylor, Barbara Walters (Shevell's cousin), Steve Buscemi, and Keith Richards attended the festivities at the Bowery Hotel. Guests were served "an all-vegetarian feast over a candlelit dinner," and danced the night away to Motown music. [Us Weekly]

  • Jennifer Lopez broke down and had to leave the stage Saturday during a performance of "If You Had My Love" at Mohegan Sun. She began the number by telling the audience that this was "the first song I ever wrote about love." As she performed, she was accompanied by "pairs of dancers...dressed like Lopez with look-alikes of her past loves, including Diddy, Ben Affleck, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony." At that point she "wiped her eyes repeatedly" and left the stage when the song was over, eventually returning to perform two more numbers. [E!]

  • In his upcoming memoir God, If You’re Not Up There, I’m F*cked, former SNL cast member Darrell Hammond says that his drinking and drug use got so bad in 1998 that he was taken out of the NBC infirmary "in a straitjacket." In 2002. He writes that he was using "an obscene amount of cocaine" and by 2009 was spending time in a Harlem crack house. Hammond writes that he "kept a pint of Remy" in his desk and that "when drinking didn’t work, I cut myself." [Page Six]
