CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) — The man accused of multiple carjackings and leading police on a long, wild chase in Denver is being held the Douglas County jail on bail totaling $3.5 million.

Authorities say Ryan Stone will be prosecuted in Douglas County, where the car chase ended Wednesday with Stone's arrest.

The event that gained national attention included multiple crashes, high speeds, a state trooper being hit and a 4-year-old taken on a ride in one of the carjacked vehicles. The boy was not hurt.

The Colorado State Patrol trooper who was hit and seriously injured during the chase continues to be treated at a hospital.

Officials say Trooper Bellamann Hee received injuries to his legs.
