GEORGETOWN, Guyana (AP) — Officials say a U.S. team is expected soon in the South American nation of Guyana to probe the crash of a Boeing 737 jetliner that all 163 people aboard survived.

Authorities so far have given little idea about the cause of Saturday's crash. The Caribbean Airlines plane ran off the end of a runway at Guyana's main airport and broke in two. About 30 people had to be treated at a local hospital, including the pilot.

The airline is largely owned by the government of Trinidad and Tobago and its prime minister has visited the crash site. Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she is worried that the accident will hurt tourism to the Caribbean, a region that depends heavily on the industry.

Like they say, "It's not so much the flying I'm afraid of, it's the crashing I'm not too fond of!"

Takeoffs are optional; landings are mandatory.

The 737-800 is a great airplane. It has great thrust reversers and good brakes. Either something didn't work or the plane landed long and too fast or all of the above. The investigation will show the cause. Because it's a good airplane nobody was killed.....

WOW!!! sounds like alot of heros on that plane ride, men clinbing over women to get out of danger. Don't help your fellow man or woman. Only way this could be worse is if the woman he climbed over was his own wife.

I don't know why many people are surprised that the taxi driver charged the victims to drive them etc. Has anyone ever been in a car accident and gotten a free ride to the hospital in the good ol USA? The ambulence will charge you several thousand dollars just for the ride, and the hospital will charge you seveal more thousand for the visit also! IF you have Kaiser Permanente, they will put a lean on you until you pay them!
