Chevrolet Unveils Beat Activ At 2016 Auto Expo

Chevrolet unveiled the latest generation Beat (Spark in global markets) last year and the vehicle is slated to be launched in India in 2017. The American automaker has now lifted the veils off the Beat Activ which is a cosmetically enhanced version of the current generation model that resembles a mini crossover. The car gets a lot of major changes to the outside, thus making the styling look more rugged and appealing.

The very first thing you notice on the car is the heavy body cladding that is fitted on the bumpers and doors. The lower part of the front and rear bumpers also get silver skid plates while the wheel arches look more prominent now with all the additional cladding. The chunky alloy wheels add a flair of style to the otherwise funky side profile. The vehicle also gets roof rails and a rear spoiler to complete the mini SUV look.

Meanwhile the latest gen Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 1.4-litre EcoTec petrol engine in global markets. When launched in India, we can expect GM to offer a diesel engine too. While the regular Beat competes with the likes of the Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10, the Beat Cross will be rivalling the Toyota Etios Cross.
