    The standard tummy tuck is recommended for individuals who are in good physical shape but have a decent amount of loose skin and fat to remove. The incision is commonly made between the hip bones and expected recovery time ranges from one to two weeks.

    A mini tummy tuck requires a much smaller incision and is a less invasive procedure. It is typically ideal for anyone who is physically fit but is struggling with removing an abdominal pouch through diet and exercise. Recovery time for a mini tummy tuck ranges from a few days to a week.

    Individuals who would like to remove fat and skin from not only their abdomen but also their hips, and lower back would benefit from an extended tummy tuck. An extended tummy tuck consists of longer incisions across the abdomen that also reaches to the lower back. The recovery period requires a two day hospital stay and physical activities are limited for at least a month after the procedure.

    An excisional back lipectomy or butt lift done along with a tummy tuck is what is commonly referred to as a lower body lift or circumferential body lift.
