China says Hong Kong economy will be hit by protests

BEIJING (Reuters) - Hong Kong's economy will be affected in coming months by pro-democracy demonstrations that have occupied parts of the city for nearly two months, a spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday. Shen Danyang, the spokesman at China's trade ministry, also told a media briefing that China's economy faces increasing downward pressure.
