Could Clint Eastwood be the “mystery speaker” at the Republican National Convention?
Whispers are circulating around the RNC over the speaker's identity. Though none have confirmed an Eastwood engagement, Townhall.com reported on Wednesday that Eastwood is in fact attending the convention.
The acting and directing icon is expected to arrive in Tampa late Wednesday or early Thursday. The mystery speaker is slated to go on stage just before Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., introduces Mitt Romney on Thursday night.
Eastwood is a known Republican—he has endorsed Romney and he backed Sen. John McCain in 2008—and if his performance in Chrysler ads during the Super Bowl earlier this year is any indicator, Eastwood would pack power into every word -- and possibly redeem himself with Republicans who saw that ad as a thinly disguised endorsement of President Obama.
