Coffee Roasting Company Finds Sack Full Of Cocaine In Usual Shipment

A coffee roasting company in Berlin, Germany, received its usual shipment of green coffee from Brazil to discover 33kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1 million (around R11.5 million) inside the container.

“An employee at the roasting firm at about 10am opened a container that had been delivered and found not only coffee, but a bag containing 33 kilos of cocaine,” said Berlin police in a statement on Thursday.

The employee immediately called the police who confiscated the drugs.

According to the police, the shipment arrived from an unnamed source in Brazil and came through the port city of Bremerhaven.

An investigation has been launched into who sent the drugs and how they slipped through customs undetected.
