Colorado unemployment rate drops to 6.9 percent as it continues to fall
DENVER (AP) -- Colorado's unemployment rate in April continued to fall, dropping to 6.9 percent from March's 7.1 percent.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said Friday the state added 11,600 nonfarm payroll jobs from March to April, for a total of 2.3 million jobs, according to a statewide survey of businesses.
Private sector jobs increased 11,600 and government jobs remained unchanged.
This compares to an increase of 11,000 jobs between January and February, and 500 jobs from February to March.
