The Indianapolis Colts placed tight end Dwayne Allen on injured reserve and signed rookie wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers off their practice squad. Wide receiver Danny Coale was also added to the practice squad.
Allen is headed for season-ending surgery on the hip he injured in the team's Week 1 victory over Oakland.
Rogers was signed by the Bills as an undrafted rookie in April, but was waived Aug. 26 and hooked on with the Colts' practice squad. Rogers has long been an intriguing prospect to scouts, but had off-field incidents that led to him transferring from Tennessee to Tennessee Tech for the 2012 season.
Coale was a fifth-round pick by Dallas last year, spending most of the season on the practice squad before landing on injured reserve.
