COMMENTARY | I'm a United States Navy Boatswain Mate that served in the United States Navy from 2000-2004, in Gaeta, Italy. I currently reside in Colorado Springs, Colo., and am in my early 30's. I have been watching the way that President Barack Obama handles the tough military decisions, and for this reason I choose to support President Obama.
There are certain aspects of being a military-minded president, which include making the tough calls, such as ending the life and regain of Osama bin Laden's life in a country that we are friendly with. This is the one reason that I have chose to support President Obama. Other presidents, such as George Bush, that had the opportunity to kill Saddam Hussein's during the Persian Gulf War, but chose not to.
This showed me the mental strength, and fortitude that the president of the United States should have, is well intact with President Obama. Not only has President Obama made the tough decisions such as ending the life of Osama bin Laden, but he has worked towards fixing America's economical situation as well.
These are two things that go hand-in-hand with America's troops, because every day there are more troops entering into the civilian life, and they need to jobs in order to make this transition a successful one. This is one factor that is often overlooked by the United States president during the time of war, but it has been a situation that President Obama has addressed through making more jobs, while serving his four-year term, which is the reason that I support President Obama, and look forward to another four years of President Obama as commander-in-chief of the United States military.
