Cordova Park entered brief lockdown after student claimed to have gun. PPD finds nothing.

Cordova Park Elementary School entered a lockdown Thursday morning, but quickly returned to normal operations after a Pensacola Police Department investigation.

Escambia County Public Schools told the News Journal that a student reported that another student claimed to have a gun, but a PPD investigation found that claim was "unfounded."

PPD told the News Journal that "nothing come of" the investigation.

When asked if the student claiming to have a firearm would receive any disciplinary action, ECPS said, "As the investigation culminates, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with our policies."
