Coughlin coy about makeup of Giants' shuffled o-line

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- This much is known: the New York Giants will have two reserve offensive lineman starting against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with right guard Chris Snee (hip) and center David Baas (neck) ruled out on Friday.

Who those two players will be, however, remains a mystery.

"You'll have to see," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said when asked who will be inserted into the lineup at Kansas City.

With less than half a million in salary cap space, the Giants have no choice but to call on their backup depth.

One possible offensive line combination could see an interior of David Diehl at left guard, Kevin Boothe at center and James Brewer at right guard. But that hinges on Diehl, who was listed as doubtful Friday due to a thumb injury. Another possibility could see Diehl and Boothe at the guards, and Jim Cordle at center.

"Definitely, it's a big challenge," rookie right tackle Justin Pugh said. "I think every game you go into presents its own unique difficulties that you have to overcome and I think this week having two new starters on the offensive line replacing guys like Chris Snee and Baas is going to be a big challenge, but we're up for it. I'm excited to get out there on Sunday and see what we've got."

The Chiefs lead the league with 15 sacks, while the Giants' offense leads the NFC with 11 allowed against quarterback Eli Manning.

"AI don't think it's an added pressure. I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves already to be perfect and if we go out there and execute and do our technique, we'll be alright," said Pugh. "I think the challenge is for us to keep Eli up. It's not as much of what they've got to do. It's what we have to do and make sure we execute our game plan."

--CB Corey Webster (hip) was ruled out Friday and will miss his second consecutive game.

--LB Spencer Paysinger (hip) is listed as probable.

--S Cooper Taylor (shoulder) remains limited in practice and is questionable.

--CB Terrell Thomas (knee) practiced Friday and is probable.

--DE Justin Trattou (ankle) was added to the injury report on Thursday with a right ankle injury, but participated Friday and is probable.

--LB Jacquian Williams (knee) was limited Friday and is questionable. It was not clear if Williams' issue was the same PCL ailment that limited him this past spring.
