Couple Captures Video Of Train Smashing Through 18-Wheeler, Derailing
A couple driving through Mer Rouge, Louisiana on Oct. 5 caught dramatic footage of a train derailment on video after an 18-wheeler caught in the tracks failed to move before a 87-carriage freight train slammed through it, derailing 17 cars and two engines.

The Daily Dot reports the derailment of the Union Pacific prompted the evacuation of fifty homes in the vicinity of the crash over fears of a gas leak. The truck driver was not in the vehicle at the time of the collision and the train operator is being treated for minor injuries. No fatalities were reported.
