Crews respond to fire south of Roswell

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A large fire is burning in Chaves County south of Roswell near the Roswell Air Center. The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office is saying the fire has the potential to produce deadly gases.

Law enforcement is asking residents to stay clear of the area. The City of Roswell says no evacuations are necessary at this time but residents are asked to shelter in place.
