"Harry Potter" and "Batman" fixture Gary Oldman is close to joining the cast of sci-fi thriller "Criminal."
It's Costner who will be taking the title role, that of a wanted man who finds himself in posession of the memories and skillset belonging to a deceased CIA agent.
Oldman's part has not been confirmed but his pending involvement was picked up on by TheWrap, citing a source close to the production.
The film is to be directed by Ariel Vroman, whose most recent project was 2012's "The Iceman," an adaptation of the true life tale behind a crime family hitman, with the likes of Winona Ryder, Chris Evans and Ray Liotta in support.
He'll be directing from a script written by David Weisberg and Douglas Cook, the screenwriting pair who collaborated on "The Rock" (1996) and "Double Jeopardy" (1999).
