This is what a curved ‘iPhone edge’ might actually look like
Time and again we get to see awesome iPhone concepts created by talented designers expressing their visions of future iPhones. However, they do not actually work at Apple, so in most cases these are fruitless designs that show gadgetry Apple isn’t likely to actually make. However, one person took a closer look at technology Apple is studying for the iPhone, and designed an iPhone concept with a wraparound display that Apple might actually be interested in developing in the coming years.

The video below, created by Mesut G. Designs, shows a device that features a large bezel-less display that occupies the entire front side of the handset. Gone are the physical buttons (including home button and volume rockers), and the phone’s back is made of metal with dual speakers.
The iPhone concept in the video below is inspired by a drawing that Apple featured in a patent (see it above). Drawings and tech in patents don’t necessarily show a device’s final design, specs or features, but the patent in question does prove Apple is at least interested in using such technology in a future iPhone model.
Mesut G. Designs calls this an iPhone 7, but it’s beyond unlikely for Apple to adopt a curved display for the iPhone as soon as next year. Recent reports have suggested that Apple might use a curved screen in the iPhone beginning in 2018 when the iPhone 8 is set to be released.
