There are more customers who are "very satisfied" with Apple's latest iPad compared to owners of the previous model. The ‘high resolution retina display' is cited as one of the best features of the new device according to a new survey.

These findings are the results of a survey conducted among 2000 new iPad owners in the US from March 22-28 and released on April 2.

The survey, which was conducted by ChangeWave Research, a service of 451 Research, found that 82 percent of new iPad owners say they are "very satisfied" with the device.

A further 16 percent stated that they were "somewhat satisfied" with the device, while only two percent claimed to be "somewhat unsatisfied" with the new iPad.

In comparison, a separate survey conducted by the same company found that only 74 percent of owners of the previous model, the iPad 2, described themselves as "very satisfied" with the device, and 23 percent claimed to only be "somewhat satisfied."

These figures suggest that people are more satisfied with the latest model of iPad than they were with the previous one.

When asked what they liked best about the new iPad the majority of consumers (74 percent) chose "high retina display" as the standout feature of the device.

On March 19 Apple announced that three million units of the new device had been sold since its March 16 retail debut, calling it "the strongest iPad launch" to date.
