Cord cutters rejoice: Dish frees ESPN from cable bundles

Want a way to get ESPN without paying for a pricey cable bundle? Well wait no more — per GigaOM, Dish on Monday announced its new Sling TV online streaming service that will give you access to both ESPN and ESPN 2 along with a handful of other stations for $20 per month.

While ESPN is definitely the highlight of Sling TV’s initial online package, subscribing to it will also get you the Disney Channel, ABC Family, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, TNT, CNN, TBS, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. In other words, it looks like Dish has successfully signed up Disney and Turner Broadcasting channels for their new service, which seems to offer a solid package for cord cutters.
