The CW Renews 8 Shows, Including Arrow, Jane the Virgin, The Vampire Diaries, and More

It's only January, but The CW is already planning ahead for fall. The network has renewed eight shows for the 2015–2016 TV season: Arrow, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Reign, and Supernatural.

Freshman comedy Jane the Virgin, which hasn't pulled in big ratings on Monday nights but recently earned the network its first-ever Golden Globes nomination, will return for Season 2. "As far as we're concerned, Jane has actually performed," CW President Mark Pedowitz said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Sunday. "[Jane] is a quality show."

And even though Arrow's fall finale left Ollie's fate up in the air, the show will return for a fourth season of butt-kicking, while its speedy spin-off The Flash will be back for Season 2. Meanwhile, The Vampire Diaries will be back for Season 7; The Originals, Reign, and the critically acclaimed science-fiction series The 100 will all be back for Season 3, and Supernatural and the Winchester brothers will return for a landmark ELEVENTH season.

Elsewhere in the network's lineup, there's no word yet on the future of dramedy Hart of Dixie, which just began airing its fourth (and let's be honest, probably final) season. Midseason series iZombie and The Messengers will both debut later this spring.
