Dan Church to coach Canadian women's hockey team in 2014 Winter Olympics

OTTAWA - Dan Church will coach the Canadian women's hockey team at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The 39-year-old from Toronto coached Canada to a gold medal at this year's world championship.

It was Canada's first world title since 2007. The women have won gold at the last three Olympic Games.

Church has coached the women's hockey team at York University for nine years.

He'll be joined by former national team player Danielle Goyette as an assistant coach.

Church and Goyette will also be behind Canada's bench at next year's world championship in Ottawa.
