Davies wants Scarlets ambition

New Scarlets co-captain Jonathan Davies says that the region need to show they're competitive if he's to sign a new deal. The centre's current contract expires at the end of the season and after strong showings for Wales and the Lions he's hot property, with a move abroad sure to be in the offering. However, the 25-year-old insists he could remain in Wales - if Scarlets are able to challenge for silverware. "If the club's and my goals in the next few years are the same then I'll be more than happy to stay," Davies told the Rugby Paper. "I've been fortunate with Wales to perform in big games - the World Cup semi-final, Grand Slams and Championships - and now in with the Lions. "I just want to win competitions. Once you get a taste of it you want it more and more. As long as we have the squad to do that then I'm happy. I want to make sure I'm in a team I can help win trophies. That's why you play."
