‘The Day I Turned Uncool’ Comedy From David Katzenberg & Seth Grahame-Smith Set At NBC
The Hard Times Of RJ Berger creators David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith have re-teamed for a new comedy series project, The Day I Turned Uncool, which has been set up at NBC through Sony Pictures Television.
Written by Lauren Miller Rogen and Alanna Thompson, the comedy is based on the book The Day I Turned Uncool: Confessions Of A Reluctant Grown-Up by Dan Zevin. It follows a group of five best friends who’ve crossed the line from Pabst to Pinot and realize they’re officially UNCOOL. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith executive produce through their KatzSmith Prods. banner. Actresses-writers Miller Rogen and Thompson co-executive produce.
Following MTV’s The Hard Times Of RJ Berger, Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith largely went in different career directions, with Katzenberg focusing on TV directing (he serves as executive producer/director on ABC/Sony TV’s The Goldbergs) and Grahame-Smith writing features such as Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The two recently teamed together on a couple of feature projects, including It, Gremlins and Beetlejuice 2.
