Deadpool Reaction: Apparently, It’s The Best Marvel Comic Movie Yet
On Monday there was a surprise first screening of ‘Deadpool’ several weeks ahead of its release next month.
As you can imagine, the crowd were rather over the moon with the fact that they got to see the eagerly anticipated ‘X-Men’ spinoff before anyone else. The collective mood became even more ecstatic with the surprise appearance of Ryan Reynolds and ‘Deadpool’s’ cast too.
What was the reaction to the film itself though? Now, of course, these lucky sons of guns are likely to be a little hyperbolic considering that they had the privilege of seeing ‘Deadpool’ first.
But even so the collective response has been rather euphoric. In fact, one of those in attendance even insisted that ‘Deadpool’ is “LITERALLY [the] BEST MARVEL MOVIE.” That’s right, they cap-locked the entire sentence they were that happy.
Another Twitter user was so enthused that they couldn’t even fit their “excitement into 140 characters.” Instead they let a stream of Emojis do the explaining for them.
Meanwhile, other members of the audience wrote, “BEST MOVIE I’VE EVER SEEN,” “OFFICIALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE MARVEL MOVIES OF ALL TIME,” and simply “’Deadpool’ is so freaking drop dead awesomeness. Why did I use those words together well cause I just died.”
Obviously this reaction is good to hear, especially since the 20th Century Fox produced adaptation of Marvel’s beloved idiosyncratic character is set to be one of the most violent comic book films to date. So violent in fact that it’s already received an R rating in the good ol’ US of A.
Fingers crossed it is both a critical and financial triumph too, because its success could help to pipe fresh blood into the genre. Which, while it’s obviously still thriving, could do with being pepped up a tad.
We’ll see if ‘Deadpool’ does just that when it’s released in the UK on February 10.
