DETROIT (AP) -- Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that 2012 sales rose 5 percent and again topped 2 million vehicles, helped by the strongest December since 2006.
BY THE NUMBERS: Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford sold nearly 2.17 million vehicles in 2012, up from 2.06 million in 2011. Last month's sales totaled 206,838, up from 201,737 in December 2011.
TOP SELLERS: Sales of F-Series pickup trucks rose 10 percent to 645,316.
HOT MODELS: Ford reported sales of the Focus compact climbed 40 percent to 245,922.
