Deere recalls ATVs over fire risk

Fire risk from fuel line prompts Deere to recall ATVs

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Deere & Co. is voluntarily recalling 4,650 of its utility all-terrain vehicles because a fuel line can separate, causing a risk of a fire.

The voluntary recall was announced Thursday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Users were told to stop using the recalled vehicles and contact a John Deere retailer for a free inspection and free repair. The company based in Moline, Ill., is contacting registered owners of the vehicles directly.

The recall involves the John Deere Gator RSX850i Base, Sport, and Trail models made between May and October 2012.

Serial numbers for the recalled vehicles are listed at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml13/13717.html . Consumers with questions can call the company at (800) 537-8233 or go to www.johndeere.com for more information.

    • Tata Motors upgrades existing cars as rivals launch new products

By Aradhana Aravindan PUNE, India (Reuters) - India's Tata Motors on Wednesday launched eight upgrades of existing models, including a CNG-fuelled version of its low-cost Nano, but said little about plans for completely new vehicles to help reverse sliding car sales in India.
