Did Delonte West Take Shots At LeBron James On Instagram?
Things took a strange turn for Lebron James and Delonte West’s much-talked-about relationship on Friday (Jan. 1) when the former Cavaliers player seemed to have taken to Instagram to issue a threat to James. Warning the two-time NBA champion to “take my name out ur mouth,” West wrote that “it’s all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.”
Taking things a step further, West allegedly reposted a meme in which he is referred to as James’ “dad,” reigniting rumors about an alleged tryst between West and James’ mother:
The questionable Instagram spree comes after West reportedly sung James praises in an interview with the Northwest Ohio Media Group. Crediting his former Cleveland teammate with saving his life from severe depression, West expressed gratefulness for James support during his final 2009-10 season.
“He sat with me in the locker room for like an hour and was rapping it up with me by giving me words of encouragement,” West said. “Keep in mind, practice was still going on. He left practice and sat with me for a while, just keeping me company. He later walked me down the stairs and said, ‘D, I don’t know where you’re going or what you’re about to do, but I’ll be right here when you get back.’
“My spirits were so high at that point. I don’t know what would have happened had I left in the condition I was in prior. It’s a testament to the type of person he is.”
James has yet to respond to West.
