Although many consider Derek Jeter to be one of the best baseball players in current times, the Yankees shortstop has not experienced the same success in his love relationships. It just goes to show that good looks and money can't always buy happiness. People Magazine reported Jeter and his girlfriend of three years, the beautiful actress Minka Kelly, have split for good. Perhaps Jeter should consider a relationship with someone outside of the Hollywood circle after his many failed relationships with famed starlets.
Apparently three years was the best it gets for Jeter and his Tinseltown relationships. Here is a look at a few of the other gorgeous celebrities Jeter has dated.
Mariah Carey
In 1996, when Jeter was just a young tike, he dated Mariah Carey while she was still married to her boss, Tommy Mottola. Though the two initially denied the liaison, two years later they admitted that they had a short-lived relationship.
Lara Jutta
In 2000, Jeter supposedly fell in love with Miss Universe Lara Jutta while watching her on "Regis and Kathy Lee." They dated for about a year, in another of Jeter's longer-lasting relationships, before he turned to singer and actress Joy Enriquez.
Jessica Alba
In 2004, Jeter spent several months with actress Jessica Alba while he was in an on-again off-again relationship with Vanessa Minnillo. Several years later it was reported that Jeter gave Alba herpes, according to Sports911. Though it could be a hideous Hollywood rumor, it would not be surprising with the long list of women the Yankees star has slept with.
Vanessa Minnillo
Minnillo was one of the longer relationships Jeter had. They were together, off and on, for a little over two years between late 2003 and early 2006. The two seemed to be a match made in heaven with his affinity for actresses and her preference for athletes. Minnillo has also dated NBA star Scottie Pippen.
Jessica Biel
In 2005 Jessica Biel was the named the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine. The following year she and Jeter spent the weekend in Las Vegas and took a trip to Puerto Rico, but not long after they called it quits. Almost immediately Jeter was in the arms of another actress, Gabrielle Union.
Jeter may be in the record books for his baseball accomplishments, but his record with women may soon reach Guinness World proportions. In addition to these stunning women, he is said to have dated Scarlett Johansson and Jordana Brewster. There are countless others, but it isn't easy to keep track.
Who will be the next star to catch Jeter's eye? Only time will tell, but perhaps with a list of women longer than the Great Wall of China, how many more will really want to be a part of it?
