TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is holding a press conference in Panama City Beach on Thursday morning to discuss “Hope Florida.”

Hope Florida is a pathway between the community and nonprofits, faith-based communities, and the public and private sector that allows residents to achieve prosperity and economic self-sufficiency.

The CarePortal will offer job, childcare, basic needs, and housing opportunities. DeSantis hopes this will completely eliminate reliance on public assistance.

Throughout the state, DeSantis said there were roughly 5,000 network partners with Hope Florida helping close to the 100,000 Floridians referred.

DeSantis was joined by First Lady Casey Desantis and the Secretary of the Department of Children and Families, Shevaun Harris.

The press conference will be available to watch in the video player above.
