    Web Site Designers and Developers Invited to Compete for Recognition in the 10th Annual Horizon Interactive Awards Competition

    The Horizon Interactive Awards 2011 Call For Entries is now open. The competition awards the best web sites, video, social media, mobile apps, online advertising, cd, dvds and more.

    The Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international interactive media awards competition, announced the 2011 Call For Entries to highlight this year’s “best of the best” in interactive media production.

    Now in its tenth year, the Horizon Interactive Awards attracts participants from all over the world. In fact, last year’s competition saw over 1000 entries from 22 countries around the world and nearly all 50 US States. Designers and developers compete in several categories for the coveted “Best of Category” and “Best of Show” awards. Other levels, including Gold, Silver and Bronze, are also awarded to other worthy entries.

    Judging takes place initially by an “end user” panel to provide a unique perspective to the entries. From there, an international panel of volunteer judges, peers in the interactive media industry, will judge the Gold level entries to award the “Best of Category” and vote for the “Best of Show” award distinction.

    Categories for the competition include: Online Advertising, Activism, Animation, Consumer Information, E-commerce, Entertainment, Government, Self Promotion, Video, Social Media, Mobile Apps, to name a few.

    “The 2010 competition had an outstanding entry field,” said Mike Sauce – Founder of the Horizon Interactive Awards. ”The overall diversity and quality of entries we received was fantastic and judging was very competitive. What is interesting to me is that we’re starting to see a convergence of all types of media, from web to mobile, into more integrated solutions for clients around the world. That’s exciting to see!“

    "We're honored that Inside the Haiti Earthquake has been awarded the Best in Show Award at the 2010 Horizon Interactive Awards.  This project is the result of over a year's work by more than 25 collaborators from Canada and Haiti, said Katie McKenna, PTV Productions.  “All of us put our heart and soul into creating a simulation that would help users understand the complexities and challenges of  real-world humanitarian disasters.  We're thrilled that the Horizon Interactive Awards jury recognized our work, and is giving us an opportunity to share it with a broader audience".
