New Details Emerge Over Bobby Brown's Departure From Whitney Houston Funeral

A new account has emerged over what happened with Bobby Brown, who left the funeral of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston, before it started on Saturday.

Mark Trigg, who was Whitney's attorney, and now represents the Houston family, claimed on "The Frank and Wanda Morning Show" on Atlanta's V-103 on Tuesday, that Brown did not adhere to guidelines set up between Trigg and the singer's lawyer.

"There were three rows reserved for the family up front, Bobby was invited to sit in those three rows with the family. Bobby has three older children that he also wanted to bring to the service -- they were invited, his brother Tommy was invited. The understanding was -- and the agreement was -- that the three children would sit with Tommy, a few rows behind the family, while Bobby was permitted to sit in those three rows with scarce seating, with the family," Trigg explained.

Trigg said Brown's attempt to sit with his children in the first three rows on the day of Houston's funeral, created an issue.

"He and the three children went and sat in the family section. When that happened, security discreetly, politely, respectfully said, 'Bobby, you're welcome to stay here, but we need to ask the three children to please go sit with their uncle given space limitations,'" Trigg recounted. "That was the deal and there shouldn't have been any problem... At that point, for whatever reason, he took offense at that and at that point, tried to get [Bobbi Kristina] to intervene."

Trigg said there was also an agreement in place with Brown, via his lawyer, that Brown would not reach out to his daughter unless she made the first move.

"The other part of our agreement, prior to the service, was... if Bobbi Kristina reached out to Bobby, tried to initiate any contact with him, security was certainly going to make sure that happened," Trigg said. "What was asked of him, however, was that if [Bobbi Kristina] didn't initiate that contact, for whatever reason, with whatever was going on in her head and heart and spirit that day, if she didn't initiate the contact, then he was not to reach out for her.

"Unfortunately, that didn't happen either and when he went to interact with her, that's when security said, 'We would ask you to please go to your seat, please have your children sit with their uncle and let's not have any unnecessary drama here.' That's the point where he, for whatever reason, decided that he wanted to just leave the service," Trigg said.

As for Brown, last Sunday, he issued a statement to Access Hollywood over his choice to leave the funeral of his ex-wife.

"My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions," his statement began.

"I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina," the statement released to Access continued. "In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how."

In related news, according to HollywoodLife.com, Bobbi Kristina Brown has returned to the Atlanta home she shared with her mother.

The 18-year-old was previously in Newark, New Jersey, where her mother was laid to rest over the weekend.

It's unfortunate that Bobby Brown arrived at Whitney's funeral with the idea that the day was about him... he was her EX-husband and should simply have been honored to be told that he could still sit in the family section... his children were no relation to Whitney and there should have been no problem whatsoever with them sitting with their uncle just a few row behind their father... if what Trigg says is true, and why should anyone seriously doubt it, there was an agreement for Bobby to leave Bobbi Kristina be unless SHE wanted to initiate contact with him during the funeral... again, it was about him... HE wanted to plea with her to intervene on behalf of his children who were no relation to Whitney or Bobbi... the man sounds like he has an ego problem, but I do applaud him for quietly leaving the funeral after not getting his way... he could have started a serious rumpus which would have been unpleasant and disrespectful... however, I think he needs a wake up call to let him know it's NOT all about him all the time.

What has remained true from Whitney's statements is that his children were her children also. She always acknowledged them and I don't see why the family felt the need to not include them in the family seating even by Bobbi Kristina even though Bobby and Whitney were divorced. Just my opinion

Whitney Houston- once a beautiful lady with a lovely voice, now a cautionary tale to young girls about what a "bad boy" boyfriend can do to you. And he still was doing it, even after she passed. What a creep.

One simple question -- If she is back at her home in Atlanta, where is Bobby Brown now? If he really wanted to be there for his daughter, wouldn't now be the time not that she is not surrounded by Whitney's family, lawyers, etc??

Those are some details...I see nothing but the headline.

Why did he try to make it about him when all he had to do was what was agreed upon. It would have meant so much to Bobbie-Kristina if for once he had put she or Whitney first in his life.

And what if some hired security #$%$ hole tried to keep you from seeing your own child at her other parent's funeral?

Renee: He should've been mature. And if he wanted to "reach out" to his child, maybe he could've done it when she really needed him after her mother died, not at the funeral, making a scene in front of everyone.

This speaks volumes of his "character". What a self-involved jerk.

TRASH. Pure Trash is Bobby! Obviously he just doesn't understand that everything isnt about HIM. What a mess. Glad Whitney got rid of him. To hell with those sticking up for him. Whitney made her mistakes......paid her price. BB will continue to screw up...making a fool of himself like most dopeheads do. Don;t like it..stick it.

Not knowing anything...and not really caring but.....for "arrangements" to be made about how Bobby can interact with his own daughter???? Are you kidding me? Whitney's ex and her ex step kids should have been with the other family. But this is a class-less bunch anyway so it's expected.

attorneys involved for a funeral so sad for the daughter. It says so much about Bobby Brown.
    • msuknow  •  3 mths ago
Why couldnt he just keep his end of the bargain.
Then he trying to have BK intervene, that child could careless where he sits, she's mourning the death of her mother. Him and his kids should have just watched the funeral on tv like the rest of us
    • What a Rush  •  3 mths ago
As a human being, it is his responsibility to let another human being attend the funeral of her MOTHER without him drawing attention to himself. 'Bobbi Kris, they won't let my other kids sit with me at your mama's funeral, can you help?' Disgusting.

Whitney died of a bobby brown overdose. He gets no caps. He is not a noun.

Gotta wonder if Bobby is not the one who introduced Whitney to the drugs. If that is the case he should not have been allowed at the funeral at all.

He must be related to Al Pencil Head. It is all about them.
