Did NASA spot an alien spaceship near Mercury?

"Professional scientists" explain that it's "actually an image of Mercury itself, which appears due to the way the telescope imagery is double-processed to enhance its clarity.

Ya know, while I don't think there are spaceships there, that line above sounds like pure Bullchit to me. Why not just call it swamp gas mirroring off of the moon by way of Jupiter? Makes as much sense.

I can't imagine going through life with ideas as closed minded as "we're the only intelligent life form in the whole of the universe and beyond". Thanks mom for making sure I was not gullible enough to swallow everything my government tells me.

Nasa has done NOTHING but lie to us since day one! I see NO reason for them to start telling the truth about ANYTHING! When an interviewer asked Neil Armstrong if he lied about some things, Neils reply was,"NO, I LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING!"

Whether it did or did not, one thing is fact. Aliens from other planetary systems have been coming to Earth for thousands and thousands of years. The evidence is becoming overwhelming. They are hundreds of thousands if not a million years more advanced than we currently are. I, had always wanted to see a UFO in my lifetime and believe that last week I saw my first one on a Saturday late afternoon in a partly cloudy sky. It ducked behind some clouds as me and my wife were headed to do some shopping. She saw it too. It was no airplane, helicopter, late day planet or distant star. No balloon or swamp gas. It was a round gleaming shining orb with a bright aluminum metallic look. I wish I could have seen it for a longer timeframe than about 45 seconds.

An image of Mercury? Last time I checked, Mercury was round....if not....I guess the Earth is flat!

What scares me is that there are so many people who believe this is an alien ship.

well I googled this story because no pics in this story and it came up as a huffington post story, that leaves me to not believe any of this story

Just got through avoiding a solid 3 hours of Ancient Astronaut hogwash on the H2 channel that just about made me sick. What gets me is not just these people's total ignorance of history and archaeology and the most basic freshman-level physics, but how amazingly proud they are of it. 200 years ago they would have been using God to explain everything they didn't understand. These days they use UFO's and ancient astronauts.

A sample of the kind of science and logic the show uses: "If we can journey to the moon and back, then isn't it possible aliens might have journeyed here from different galaxies?" Yeah, like "If it's possible for me to jump over a puddle in the street, then isn't it possible that I might jump over the Atlantic Ocean?"

Oh, and people-- Please do try and remember that UFO means "Unidentified Flying Object." It DOESN'T mean, "alien spaceship." Most UFO sightings are just that: sightings of things no one can readily identify. Not being able to ID something does NOT mean it must be an Alien Spacecraft.

Death Star anyone?? Maybe if it is a planet or ship we could have NASA send all of D.C. into orbit and rondezvous with it. Then we can go back to electing politicians that care about the country.

I already vote NO to college grants for the aliens from outerspace!
