Digital Democracy: The Yahoo Conference on Technology & Politics

How is technology shaping the future of our democratic process and the relationship between citizens and their government? In an inaugural live news event - Digital Democracy: The Yahoo Conference on Technology & Politics - Yahoo will connect Americans to the people influencing public policies and answer this question. On November 12, ahead of the democratic debate, the Yahoo News and Politics teams - including Katie Couric, Michael Isikoff, Matt Bai, David Pogue, Olivier Knox, Jon Ward and Alyssa Bereznak - are heading to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. There, we will host high profile influencers including, elected officials, campaign strategists, tech industry leaders, top journalists and futurists.

The all-day conference will be attended by Drake students and faculty, Iowa voters and public officials, representatives of the state’s tech community, and will also be live streamed on Yahoo Politics.

In addition, we’re kicking off the Yahoo News College Contributor Contest, a unique opportunity for the chance to be one of five student contributors to Yahoo News’ 2016 Election coverage. Winners will have the chance to win prizes such as: content published on the Yahoo Politics Tumblr, mentorship opportunities with Yahoo’s top tier editorial team and a trip to shadow one of Yahoo News’ best-in-class journalists.
