Disney Movies Anywhere review
Disney Movies Anywhere offers access to Disney, Pixar, and Marvel movies on your Android device. You'll have to create an account if you don't already have one, but it's worth the trouble to stream all of your Disney favorites.
Pros
Parental controls: Disney Movies Anywhere's Basic Parental Controls lets parents toggle restricted ratings on and off. For example, if you don't want your little ones to watch PG-13-rated movies, just tap the slider to On. Transactions for any PG-13-rated movies will be disabled.
Some free content: While you do have to pay to play movies, the Discover menu offers free previews to movies, which might be just enough to keep your little one occupied on a car ride.
Connect to your provider: The app connects to either iTunes, Google Play, or Vudu, though it depends on the device you're using. For example, we have both iTunes and Google Play accounts, but we could not connect to our iTunes account using our Android device.
Cons
Free but not free: Sure, the Disney Movies Anywhere app is free, but the movies are not free to watch. It only connects to the movies that you purchase now or purchased in the past.
Requires registration: If you don't already have a Disney account, you'll have to create a new one from scratch. Registration involves entering your date of birth, first and last name, email, and creating a username and password.
Bottom Line
If you already have a Disney account with purchased movies in your collection, this app is a no-brainer to connect to all of your purchased content. Otherwise, if you don't mind signing up for one, the free movie previews are worth the download just to keep your little one entertained.
