Dorian regenerates into tropical storm east of Fla.; no watches or warnings in effect

MIAMI - The tropical system Dorian has regenerated into a tropical storm east of Florida.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Dorian's maximum sustained winds early Saturday are 35 mph (55kmh). The storm's centre is about 85 miles (140 kilometres) east-northeast of Cape Canaveral.

Dorian is moving north at 6 mph (9 kph).

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.

Forecasters with the centre expect the storm to continue moving north at the same speed, with little change in strength, on Saturday, with a turn toward the northeast Sunday. On the storm's projected track, forecasters expect it to remain well off the southeast U.S. coast.
