    Dove Medical Press Announces Dr Sean Kerwin as the Editor-in-Chief of Reports in Organic Chemistry

    Dr Sean Kerwin has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the new open access journal Reports in Organic Chemistry, published by Dove Medical Press.

    Dove Medical Press has announced the appointment of Dr Sean Kerwin as the Editor-in-Chief of the new journal Reports in Organic Chemistry.

    This international, peer-reviewed, open access journal publishes original research, reports, reviews and commentaries on all areas of organic chemistry.

    Dr Kerwin is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. After earning his baccalaureate degree in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 1984, he joined the laboratory of Professor Clayton Heathcock at the University of California, Berkeley for his PhD studies. His current research interests include the design of new diradical- and carbene-generating cyclizations with applications to both synthesis and biology. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of organic and bioorganic chemistry.

    He says, "Organic chemistry is undergoing dramatic changes both in fundamental areas and in applications to a wide range of other disciplines. The explosion of information can be overwhelming, especially when it is published in journals that are not readily available. This is why I am excited to be part of the introduction of this new open-access journal. Reports in Organic Chemistry will be a forum for novel research and up-to-date reviews from all areas of organic chemistry, and the open-access model ensures that the work published in this journal will be available to all."
