‘Downton Abbey’ Opens Its Doors and Hearts

On Sunday, Downton Abbey opened its doors to the village people (not the band). In an effort to raise a few extra pounds sterling, Tom and Mary thought it would be a good idea to offer a tour of their family estate to the common folk. Many of the townsfolk came to see how the other half lives and were probably somewhat disappointed by the family’s lack of knowledge of the estate. The problem was that they held the open house while their historian was away, and so a lot of the answers to the commoners’ questions were, “I don’t know.”

That aside, Lady Mary and Henry Talbot seem to be getting along splendidly. The two found themselves stuck in a rain shower, which led to escaping to drier conditions and finding themselves kissing! Does this mean Mary is finally going to make this romance happen? We’ll just have to see if her love of Henry can overcome her fear of love … and cars.

Downton Abbey airs Sundays at 9pm on PBS.
