    The Renaissance Dallas Hotel has been recognized by Dallas Mayor Rawlings for its efforts in water conservation.

    In recent months, Texas has experienced a devastating draught. Dallas Mayor Rawlings asked local residents to do their part in conserving water usage. The Renaissance Dallas Hotel embraced the idea and has been recognized in saving thousands of gallons of water.

The hotel will also only serve water in the dining rooms by request only. These simple measures can have an enormous impact on water consumption, as unused water in dining areas and unnecessarily washed towels can quickly waste gallons and gallons of water.

    While the state continues to struggle with draught problems, the city of Dallas has saved billions of gallons of water—enough to satisfy the indoor water needs of every citizen of the United States, according to Dallas Councilmember Linda Koop.
