It’s not everyday that the Duchess of Cambridge heads to an office to sit at a desk and work 9 to 5 like the rest of us mere mortals. Her royal duties tend to take her all over the country and rarely require a computer.

But today, for one day only, she teamed up with the Huffington Post UK to guest edit the site - from the comfort of Kensington Palace, naturally.

In addition to raising awareness for mental health issues children globally suffer from, the Duchess brought another really important lesson to the table - how to dress for the office.

Doing away with her coat dresses and Mulberry clutch, the Duchess looked far more like, dare we say, the rest of us than usual in a shirt and skirt combo.

Mixing high street with high end fashion, the Duchess looked just like a fashion-forward journo in a bang-on-trend high-neck blouse from Reiss.

Made from a lightweight chiffon and boasting a textured stripe, it was the perfect smart-yet-comfortable choice for a hectic day spent selecting news stories and running a busy website.

The mum-of-two teamed the white top with a boucle wool blend skirt from her new favourite designer; Dolce & Gabbana. Clearly Kate’s taking style tips from Helen Mirren, who rarely goes anywhere without a garment from the Italian label.

Featuring contrast button fastenings and a yarn fringe detail, it perfectly complimented the blouse.

Kate’s favourite Annoushka pearl earrings and statement engagement ring completed the look.
