    Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson On Why He Turned Down NFL Career

    "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson has made a fortune out of his love for duck season, but he did have another career option - in the NFL.

    "I had some offers," Robertson patriarch Phil told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday's Access Hollywood Live .

    Phil, who made his fortune off of making and selling duck call devices, actually ran into one of his old college teammates - former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback-turned-FOX NFL Sunday analyst Terry Bradshaw - recently.

    "I ran into my old buddy Bradshaw, for the first time since the locker room back at Louisiana Tech. I ran into him at the LA airport," Phil recounted. "I said, 'Bradshaw, you've done well, my man.' And then he started telling me about how many injuries he received."

    In fact, it was those injuries that kept the A&E star from a career in professional football following college.

    "They said, 'Why don't you go in the NFL and play football?' In the '60s, the late '60s, the going price was $60,000. You make the team? 60 grand. I thought, 'And I miss duck season? And I have large, violent... men chasing me trying to stomp me in the dirt?' It just seemed like a lot of stress and not a lot of money," he explained.

    New episodes of "Duck Dynasty" return November 28 on A&E at 10/9c.
