DuPont wins proxy fight
Shares of the DuPont (DD) are sinking after activist investor Nelson Peltz and his hedge fund Trian Partners failed in a proxy fight to put Peltz and three others on the Dupont board. CEO Ellen Kullman made a major effort to convince shareholders Peltz was wrong that the company was under-performing and needed new direction.
U.S. oil producers vs. OPEC
Did U.S. producers "blink" in a battle with OPEC over oil pricing? That's what the International Energy Agency says. The group pointing out American shale producers pulled back on drilling when prices fell...while OPEC didn't...helping the cartel win the market share battle. Fair wages at Facebook
Facebook (FB) making a big move in the discussion over the minimum wage and income inequality. COO Sheryl Sandberg announcing contractors and vendors who work with the social media company are being required to pay workers at least $15 dollars an hour and provide vacation and other benefits.

The Supreme Court's upcoming decision on the legality of same-sex marriage may bring a major change in corporate benefits. The Wall Street Journal noting that unmarried gay couples who currently get spousal benefits from their firms may have to get married to keep them...if the high court rules in favor of same-sex marriage.
