On-Duty Police Officer is Shot Dead While Responding to Domestic Dispute: Cops
A police officer was killed while on duty in a small Pennsylvania town while responding to reports of a domestic dispute over the weekend, according to reports.
Lloyd Reed, a 20-year police veteran employed with the St. Clair Township police, was fatally shot after identifying himself as a police officer, Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck told The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
According to the AP, police said a female involved in the domestic dispute suffered minor injuries.

A 6-hour manhunt ensued before a tip led to the arrest of Ray Shetler Jr., 31, around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
"This is another horrible tragedy that brings to light how difficult a police officer's job can be on a daily basis," Peck said. "A police officer responding to a domestic call is typical, and too many of these tragedies happen in this manner."
Shetler has been charged with one count of criminal homicide, though he had not been arraigned as of Sunday afternoon.

Peck said Shetler would also be charged with two other counts related to the domestic situation.
On Sunday, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf ordered all United States and commonwealth flags in the Capitol Complex and at all commonwealth facilities in Westmoreland County to fly at half-staff to honor St. Clair Township Police Officer Lloyd Reed.
"Thoughts and prayers are with family and colleagues of St. Clair Township Officer Lloyd Reed who was killed in the line of duty last night," said Governor Wolf. "Today, and every day, we are reminded of those that make the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities safe."
