Easy DVD Player gives you a quick and efficient way of playing movies from all kinds of video files on your computer, with just a few clicks.
Pros
Nice Interface: Easy DVD Player's controls are readily available and intuitive to use.
Customization options: While this app doesn't have a ton of advanced features, it does offer a nice set of options that let you control how it behaves in certain situations. For instance, you can choose to have it autoplay when you insert a disc or when you launch the app if there is already a disc present. Another handy feature is the option to auto-pause playback when the viewing window is minimized, and you can specify the font, size, and alignment you'd like to use for subtitles.
Cons
Buggy Preferences menu: We did have some difficulty accessing all of the options in the Preferences section. This was due to a dropdown menu that didn't scroll or open all the way. We tried multiple times to manipulate this window without success, and so were not able to take advantage of all of the features that can only be accessed from there.
Bottom Line
Easy DVD Player is a good option if you want to play movies in a variety of formats on your computer. The controls are straightforward, and it's nice to be able to use the same software for physical discs as well as digital files. If you're looking for more advanced features, you'll probably be disappointed, and there are definitely some minor bugs hidden here and there. But for the most part, this is an efficient and easy to use application.
