Hotly anticipated new restaurant Olamaie generated serious buzz with a series of pop-up dinners last fall, when the elegant modern Southern cooking suggested great possibilities from co-executive chefs Michael Fojtasek and Grae Nonas. Construction delays hampered their remodel of the former Sagra space, but finally Olamaie is ready to launch. Eater takes a first look inside the bright and welcoming space, slated to open next week.
Designed by Texas-based firm Staffelbach, the interior showcases the 83-year-old home that houses the restaurant. The layout includes a parlor and "great room," as well as more traditional touches like a chef's table and private dining room. Take a tour below.
