SAN FRANCISCO—Reclaimed wood, mason jars, shishito peppers, Michael Bauer: our panel of local food writers dishes on the stuff that frustrates and confounds them about SF dining in the annual Airing of Grievances.

BAY AREA—Fall is almost here, and a lot of great restaurants and bars are set to open by 2014's end. Check out our roundups of the 12 fall restaurants and the 8 fall bars you should be looking forward to.

NORTH BEACH—Congrats to Tosca Cafe, named the #4 best new restaurant in the nation by Bon Appetit.

SOMA—Chris Cosentino's SOMA restaurant Cockscomb is set to open soon, and we've got the first details on what the Top Chef Masters winner will offer.

SANTA CLARAStep inside Michael Mina's massive new Bourbon Steak & Pub, which has just opened to kick off the 49ers' first season in its newly-built home, Levi's Stadium.

JACK LONDON SQUARE—Also making its debut this week: Jack's Oyster Bar & Fish House, in Jack London Square. Take a look and check out the menu.
