BEER HERE!—A celebration of all beverages hoppy, malty, and sudsy, Charleston Beer Week brings together brewers, bars, restaurants, and aficionados for seven days of non-stop beer action. Starting September 7, there are various events to choose from, including a pig pickin' at Swig & Swine, a Carolina Brewery dinner hosted by Basico, an eight-way pairing at EVO Pizzeria, Craftsmen Kitchen & Tap House's East versus West dinner, Freehouse Brewing pint night at The Macintosh, bacon pairings at Bay Street Biergarten, and so many more that you must go study the website now to pick your favorites. BEER HERE, TOO!—The oldest brewery in South Carolina, Palmetto Brewing Co., wants to give back to the community. To do so, they are introducing a special "843 Series" of beers. This selection of beers will only be offered in the tasting room at 289 Huger St., and a portion of the proceeds will go to local charities. This month (and next), Palmetto will pour 5 Hole Stout, a "a smooth drinking pint," to benefit Pattison's Academy. Keep an eye out for new brews and charities every few months. [EventWire]
