      Israel is the one that receives a minimum of 3 billions US taxpayers money every year. That is: not counting special payments demanded by Israel every now and then.
      Egypt receives 1.3 billions. Every cent of which has to be spent on US made weapons. None can be spent on civilians.
      It is like a purchase finance plan working for the interests of the US military industrial complex.
      Check your facts and don't misrepresent them again, Larry.

      There is no pragmatism involved with the Brotherhood.They don't want to lose the American subsidy of $3B annually and they don't want to get the crap kicked out of them by the Israeli's again and lose the Sinai which Israel probably wouldn't give back-They are no better tan Hamas just smarter!

        First of all genius, it is ONE billion annually. You must have missed the Charles Rose interview of Hosny Mubarak who when stupidly served that very same #$%$ by Charles Rose, said: " Egypt never asked for the money, you can keep it...". Egypt was ostracized by all its Arab neighbours for making peace with Israel and this ONE billion dollar was to sweeten the pie. Egypt lost more from its dealing with other arab countries....So you don' t serve that number like a carrot to a donkey. You are the donkey. Your remark is a slap in the face. Egypt is not Hamas, keep your back alley rethoric to yourself. It has the luminosity of garage propaganda, keep it to yourself. IN THIS EQUATION, Egypt is not the rogue country you make it to be. Egypt more than most countries in the world. If not all....Has honored its treaties. Like a lease it is a change of landlord and the leases stay in place. You don't want to see that deep down. The good thing about the Brotherhood is that the Palestinians will not suffer the Nazi treatment Israel has inflicted on them since 1948. Terrorism is born out of total desperation...Think about it. Egypt has every f.... right to be in the Sinai with the weapons Egypt wishes to have in the Sinai. I was born and raised in Cairo. 99 % of what you hear is slanted, twisted and you know nothing more than what your local press tells you. You are an ignorant man. I am Christian and don't need to be Muslim to tell you that Egypt is an honorable country and not the rogue peace of #$%$ you are trying to make it pass for.       Remember Arafat's PLO?

      Once it came to power, it ended up not being able to satisfy everybody and increasingly fragmented into various factions. And obviously didn't make all Palestinians happy and thus Hamas was formed as a result. Who actually have ties to the Brotherhood.

      I see the same possibility with Egypt's Brotherhood. Not being able to keep the pragmatists and the hardliners all satisfied with what would have to be a very widely varying stance. I can't see that the Brotherhood will be able to stay unified.

      The Muslim Brotherhood doesn't need to worry about the peace treaty with Israel, the non-sectarian Egyptian army generals will not hand them the country, this whole thing is only a pipe dream, the more they smoke from it the more they are misleading themselves.

      Here we are almost a year later and we have gotten the democratic Egypt that anyone who understood the realities of the region should have expected.

      An Egyptian parliament divided between the Salafists and the Muslim Brotherhood​, which is a country divided between the Islamists who want to chop off heads now and the Islamists who think that it’s wiser to consolidate their power before chopping off heads.

      I wonder how the average Egyptian will interpret things if Egypt eventually ends up at war with Israel again?

      Since 1981, there's beena VERY stable peace ebtween the two countries. Prior to that, nothing but war.

      I can't see any other end result of a war with Israel ending in anything but a more degraded lifestyle and suffering for the average Egyptian. I wonder if that happens if they'll be able to deduce "why"?
