Egypt calls for indefinite ceasefire in Gaza

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt called on Israel and the Palestinians on Saturday to accept an indefinite ceasefire and resume indirect talks in Cairo to end the Gaza crisis, Egypt's foreign ministry said in a statement. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had earlier called for a swift resumption of the Cairo-mediated talks after meeting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
